Hi.
Check if your microwave is plugged in to GFI outlet. Plug it in to a regular one.
Post the results.
Simon.

hi there. thank you for your response. but yes. its plugged into gfi ... actually a DEDICATED outlet that is gfi. been there for 6 years ... just TODAY started flipping breaker when i open door.
wondering if its the "light" flipping it when i open the door? if so, what part would i replace? the light bulb? or door assembly? etc?

Hi Simon. I've moved it to a non-GFI outlet and once again - when i opened the door to the microwave - it flipped the breaker. If I close the door, turn the breaker back on, and use the microwave ... it works fine UNTIL i open the door again. (Which is each time I want to remove or add to the dish just cooked. :) )
