Water leaking inside of washer- Water Inlet Valve?

I have searched the forum on this topic and I believe I need to replace or inspect and clean a water inlet valve on my Maytag Washer. I just wanted to confirm this and determine if this is something I can do myself. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and feel comfortable in attempting this if all it requires is removing panels and a few parts inside.
Thanks for your help.

Yes you can do this, but first you need to confirm the source of the leak, which may not be the valves.
Take off the front cover by using a screw driver to release clips that hold it on. They are in the gap between the top and front near the edges.
Operate the machine with the front cover off and you should be able to see the source of the leak. Hopefully it is just a hose.
