The ice maker in our kitchen aid is not working properly. After the water freezes, you can hear a noise, almost like grinding, and it will not push the cubes into the tray.

Hello,

Based on your description the ice maker has gone bad. The solution is to replace it. You have to use the head cover and the arm from the old ice maker.
