After watching the entire cycle I know where the water comes from. The spin cycle stops after about three minutes and then the washer sprays water in twice in two short bursts as it normally does with it still spinning. I'm thinking the timer is going bad. Is there any sensor, other then the timer, that tells the washer to stop the spin cycle.

If the washer sprinkles water but does not spin any more then the problem is a bad timer. - The part number for the timer AP3020279 Gene.
