I have a Frigidaire 4.4 cu/ft fridge that only runs very cold all the time. It's 4 years old. The temp sits around 18-22f. I've tried in vain to locate a replacement thermostat or control. The parts are not available. Is there a generic part that might work, or a workaround someone can advise me of?
Thanks!!!!

Any numbers of the old part as well as pictures posted on the forum might help.

If the cold control will not turn off when you turn it up all the way, it's shorted. You can install a universal, ambient controller AP3512625 The sensing wire for this gets routed in the general control panel area and not in the fridg vent area.

Part #WSF33T-921-016 I've attached a couple of pics. richappy: Thanks for replying. Would the short occur within the switch, or does it have something to do with the sensor which is mounted in the freezer section? I ask because I rebuild potentiometers and the like in old audio equipment and would have a go at it if I had some idea of it's internal workings. Fretking attached the following image(s):

The contacts can arc weld shut, or the mechanism inside can fail.If turning it off and on a few times fails to fix it it's best to get a new one.

I'd love to get a new one but the manufacturer doesn't sell parts for compact units. They simply replace the entire fridge if it's within the warranty period.

11 years later and I also have the same model and problem. Bought fridge for $50 and it only freezes. Thermostat part # WSF33T-921-016 0704.S6781B.U This goes into a Fridgedare/Electrolux mini-fridge FRC05L5DM0
