First the plate stopped spinning, then about a week after the micro turns on but with a buzzing sound. The light comes on and the digital clock counts down the seconds. Not sure if this is worth having someone come look at, or to just purchase a new one. would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Hi.

If the microwave making buzzing sound and no heat, then the problem is on the high voltage side. If you don't feel good about getting into hi- voltage diagnostics - call a professional.
The diagnostics will require taking the microwave down and disassembling it.
Let me now if you need my help.

Thank you. Post the results.

PS. You will need a multimeter with capacitance option.
