The freezer is not freezing anything. Everything defrosted and i put a thermometer in there all night and it reads 40 degrees any ideas what may be wrong. The refrigerator side is working fine.

Hello,
First you need to check that the fan is running behind the unit. You can get a good indication by the temperature of the center divider. If it's hot, it's not running. If the coils need cleaned under and/or behind the unit, this will hamper the units' ability to cool. Next the rear wall of the freezer compartment should be removed. The frost pattern on the evaporator coils should cover most of the coils. If there is an ice ball at the top, you have a freon loss and repair may not be financially feasible.

the center wall is cold. this model doesn't have a coil on the back the back is solid. The rear wall looks like it is sealed with caulk in place does that have to be cut to remove it?

Hello,
The back freezer wall is held in with 4 screws, 2 Phillips head and 2 1/4 inch hex head. There is a gasket on either side of the rear panel. If there is caulk in place, someone has added it as it is not factory. I hope it isn't as cutting the caulk would almost surely cause scratches and cosmetic damage.
