Need to Knox how to properly put the belt back on. I have tried to connect it to a pully conectedto a spring and a post that rotates what appears to be a motor contain copper wiring but the belt has too much slop to function properly... Any ideas?

I am not 100% sure on the below but usually.
The belt ribs face the dryer drum and the motor pulley.
Pull the idler wheel in the direction where you are stretching the spring.
Then loop the belt over the motor pulley so it rides on the back of the belt.
Turn the drum in the correct direction a couple times to align/check it before powering it up.
