Thanks for the response. Yes when i turn on the dishwasher it goes on to wash cycle and start the wash cycle. The tub gets water filled and the float prevents it from overflowing. When it gets to the drain cycle the water does not pump out and i hear and see that the solenoid enages but the water does not pump out. That's when i get confused on what is not working corrrectly, the pump, solenoid or the timer. Let me know. Thanks.

Sorry but we are just going in circles.
You said the solenoid pulls down. Correct?
If yes then it is working.
You said the pump runs and washes. Correct?
If yes then it is working.
You said that it runs through the cycle. Correct?
If yes then we at least know that the timer motor is OK.
If the unit washes and during a drain cycle the solenoid pulls down and the flapper valve moves to the drain position and the motor is running.
Is this what happens?
If yes then there is a plug in the drain system.
I am sorry but I just do not get it.
If the tub is full of water and the overfill switch is deactivated (float up) and then you start another cycle. Then I do not know how it takes in more water when it is already full unless it is at least pumping out some water but you said it is not pumping out water. |

Yes the wash cycle is working

This is what im not sure. when the drain cycle starts i see the solenoid pull down but the water does not drain at all. When it was working before i can hear the sound of the pump pumping out water and water comes out of the garbage disposal sink drain. But this time this is what's not working.

Hello I am in a similar situation with a GE Nautilius GSD4260J00SS:
Zero drainage--disconnected drain from disposal to bucket, wash works, cycle knob turns, solenoid clicks but I am not sure if it is supposed to stay down (it doesn't) or just pop back up (it does). Removed sump cover and no obvious clogs.
Also, float does not seem to work as it will fill with as much water as it could.
Good thing for wet vacs!

Try draining it into a pail it sounds like a plugged drain.

Please start your own thread as your problem seems different even if the final result is the same. Also your unit id different as it has a piston and nut assembly.
The solenoid should stay down during the drain.

That there is a plug somewhere in the train system.
Could be the drain hose, could be where the drain hose attaches to the disposal etc. |

GSD4200J00BB Dishwasher pump question
I cleaned out the sump because of a odor problem last night, and pulled out the sump liner part which has a plate extension on one side of it, I think it goes on the inlet pump side.
Found the little cutter blade part loose in the bottom of the sump, and I put it back on the shaft with the blade side out from the pump, so the blade side is against the plate part of the sump liner.
Today I checked on your site and saw the little cutter blade as a part on the pump diagram, but could not tell from the diagram that I did it right. Should the blade have been loose in the first place, and is that the way it (and the sump liner) should fit against each other?

Sorry but not quite sure how you put it together.
But if you click on the pump's picture a new page will open with mode views of the pimp. You can then expand the one which shows the chopper.
It shows the tighter curve of the chopper on clockwise. |
