I have a Maytag Neptune Dryer model #MDE6700AYW. It was working fine then when I put a load in it wouldn't start. It lights up but nobody's home. I can hear a click but still no start. I tried to locate a thermal fuse but unsure of what it looks like on this model. There is no error code but the minutes displayed flashes.

I would check the thermo fuse that is located on the blower housing.

My Maytag Neptune dryer MDE6700AYW is only 2 years old. I stopped working in the middle of a run. The clothes were almost dried. I checked the electric outlet to have 120V and 240V normal. I tried different setting including timed only in vain. I then checked error code in the service mode to be 10 (sensor bar detects no wet clothes while in a dry cycle).

I got a service manual 16025911 to take the dryer apart. Here are the checks that I performed:

1. On control board, sensor bars pin4-5 (CN6): open (spec is open)
2. On control board, cycling thermostat pin1-2 (CN6): 12 KOhms (spec ~10KOhms)
3. On exhaust, thermistor: 11KOhms (spec ~10KOhms)
4. On exhaust, thermostat: 0.2Ohms (spec <1 Ohm)
5. On heater box, thermal cut off thermostat: 0.2Ohms (spec <1 Ohm)
6. On heater box, Hi Limit thermostat: 0.2 Ohms (spec < 1 Ohm)
7. On heater box, Heat element: 10.3 Ohms (spec 10 Ohms)
8. Door Switch: good
9. Belt cut-off switch: good
10. Motor Pin4-5 (windings): 2 Ohms (spec 2.0Ohms)
11. Motor Pin1-2 (centrifugal S/W): open (spec open)

Any advise?

Thanks,

I have the same dryer with the same issue, what did you end up doing to solve the issue?

I have to disconnnect the control board from the front panel and reseat them once in a while to make it going again (once a month deal). It must be a chip malfunction I think. Inside boards are in Korean/Samsung. It's a Samsung in Maytag clothes.
