I'm so frustrated with my oven I want to throw it out the door!!! I set the temperature, it beeps when it preheated and I know it can't be ready.I put a thermometer in there and it's 50 degrees cooler. So now I set it higher and MAYBE it will heat to the right temperature. SO... yesterday, I set it at 375 (becaude I needed it at 325) and went to check it and it was down to 275. What's the Deal?!!! Is it the thermostat? something else? Can I fix it (I replaced the fuse in the control panel and the broiler element years ago) Do I need a professional or get a new oven? Woe is me!

Your Model Number includes a zero not an o Here are your parts Model JKP78G*K3The control board is Item 1655 in the Wiring Material section Note the board is no longer manufactured. They show it as an exchange but this also may no longer be available. You would have to call to find out. There are also companies out there that will repair old boards, again you would have to call them to see if they will repair this one. It could be the thermostat or a poor connection somewhere between the thermostat and the board. You will notice that the thermostat's resistance rises with temperature so if a poor connection is adding resistance, it will give a false high reading and therefore a lower oven temperature. Here is a link with what a thermostat should read on a meter http://www.applianceaid.com/oven_temp_sensors_help.htmlYou may have to pull the unit to remove the thermostat. Definitely have to pull it to check the wiring. If you decide to get a pro in, be sure to get a price estimate for the call. They may just be able to tell you that it is not repairable. Also try to get a good tech. |
