gene do i have to defrost the freezer,if so best way to go about it.

You can partially defrost the coils to make easier access to the parts to test, but the overtemperature thermostat must be frozen.

ok gene so i semi defrosted the freezer and cant seem to get a reading from the overtemperature thermostat ?

im gonna just unplug it and let it melt down and fire it up again to see what happens

.gene why am i having a problem with the freezer when my original issue was the express thaw before i changed the motherboard.

If the overtemperature thermostat is open (infinite reading while it's cold) then this part is the culprit.

On your question "why did it happen" I don't have any good answer.

gene i swapped out the new main board with the old one
and now the freezer is operating as it should.the express thaw is still malfunctioning .i guess the new replacement main board is either wrong or bad.todd :confused:
