I have posted a problem of irregular temperature problem of too icing in the fresh food tray and warm freezer, etc.

With you advice: "Hi Tony. Did you change the Evaporator thermistor that is directly above the evaporator coils ? It is part # AP3185407. The freezer thermistor is on the center of the cabinet and is part # AP3185407. There are 2- more in the fresh food area. The one is located in behind the controls is part # AP3185407. They read approx. 10,000 ohms. at room temperature. Try to change these and it will reset the temperatures to normal by regulating the compressor run time and regulating the damper. Thank You.

I replaced both the evaporator thermistor and the freezer thermistor. While replacing the evaporator thermistor, we found the evaporator coil was completely jammed with ice (never defrost due to lack of instruction in the owner manual). We have to unplug and defrost it with hair dryer to be able to access to the wiring. Now, after all of these, the frig will start and the compressor is running. However, the evaporator is not chilled even the compressor runs for hours. We then cleaned the coil and the compartment at the back of the compressor unit, thinking that poor ventilation will cause the unit to have poor chilling ability. So far, 10 hours later, the freezer is still room temperature, or 60+ degrees F.

Do we have a problem of not enough refrigerant in the system? if yes, how to refill it, namely location of the feeder and proper pressure? Thank you.

Check the compressor in the back, should be warm and vibrating, the condenser fan running and the condensing coils warm. Post results.

the compressor is running / humming with some warmth, but warm enough to cause heat / chill exchange. The heat coil at the bottom is totally cool and the fan is running fine. Anyway, my question would be where to put in new refrigerant with any special procedure such as running the compressor to quickly circulate the new refrigerant, etc. if any. Thanks.

The system problems point to a refrigerant leak. Most leaks are evaporator leaks that usually cause damage to a compressor. Best to get a pro to look at it, but probably too costly to fix.
