Hi Joseph

What is the model number of your microwave?
Does it make any unusual noises?

Gene.

I think I have the same issue. My microwave worked fine but made a crackling sound for about two months and now it just stopped heating. Everything else works fine. Any ideas? Do you know the part number is for the magnetron tube for a GE Profile microwave model: JVM1861SD002

I have a Frigidaire Model GLMV168 with above symtoms. Everything works except heat. There is a burnt smell when you open the door.

Can you check any of the components inside with a multimeter ?

if you remove the control panel ( with power off, there should be some paperwork in an envelope ) it will tell you a little about the components inside .. need to check resistance of primary winding of High Voltage Transformer .. should also check High Voltage Capacitor as well ... ( and can also check the Mag Tube as well .. ) this is not necessarily easy and should remember that HV Cap's can store a lot of electricity so try to wear rubber gloves ( how old is unit ? ) sometimes it may be worth while calling a Frigi auth service tech ..
