I love this dishwasher. But it won't fill with water. I've checked and cleaned the float and it works. Water is coming into the tub (or bottom of DW). But the pump won't stop. It just keeps sucking water out of the tub. I've tried to manually fill the tub, but when power is turned on, the pump pumps all the water out. The timer motor is OK (turns the dial). Any ideas?

Remove the kick plate.
Take a look at the pump on the left hand front you will see a solenoid.
Is it up or down?

This is the wash/drain solenoid it controls a flapper valve in the pump which directs the water either up to the wash arms or out the drain.
Up is the wash position.
Down is the drain position.

The way it works at the start of a drain cycle the timer activates the solenoid for a couple seconds. This pulls the solenoid plunger down and the flapper into the drain position. The pump is running and the water pressure holds the flapper in the drain position till the unit is empty then the springs pull the plunger/flapper back to the wash position.

Perhaps return spring has come off.

Sometimes the timer can screw up and provide power to the solenoid for longer than a couple seconds. it then overheats and melts the plastic guides in the solenoid causing it to stick.
