The washer does not fill with water. If I hold the water level switch in a certain position it will fill to level i want, then i let go switch and water stops flowing and washer begins to agitate. I have to do this for wash and rinse. It also does not spray water when spinning. The washer agitates and pumps out the water. Also how would i repair the item

Most likely the problem with your washer is a bad water level switch. To get access to the part you have to remove the screw on each side of the control panel, pull it toward yourself to release the tabs and lift it up. Before you disconnect the air pressure hose from the water level switch make sure there is no water in the washer. - The part number for the water level switch AP2908304 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool washer Model LSR7233DQ0Gene.

Set the water temperature switch on "warm". Check if 120V is coming to the coils on the water valve. If there is 120V, then replace the water valve. If there is no 120V, check if there is 120V coming to the water temperature switch according to the wiring diagram. If there is 120V coming to the water temperature switch, then replace the water temperature switch. Also you can check the water temperature for continuity according to the wiring diagram. If there is no 120V coming to the water temperature switch, then replace the timer. - The part number for the water valve AP3094541 - The part number for the water temperature switch AP3037902 - The part number for the timer AP3018859 Gene.
