I have purchased the handle and thought i could replace it with no problem. I removed the plastic cover on the inside of the microwave door. I was able to remove the top screw but the one at the bottom has a metal piece that covers it. I can't figure out how to proceed from here without taking a chance that I totally mess up the door. I know it is probably something simple. Could some one please explain. HELP! Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem as RickM and SteveG. I can't get the inner cover off the door to accessthe bottom screw for the GE ProfileJVM1490BD003; to replace the handle. Bad Design. Does anyone have a u-tube video on "how to"? Thanks!:mad::mad::mad:
