Whirlpool Washer (5 and 1/2 hears old)

Hello,

After five years of good use our Whirlpool washer started to show signs of failing. When set on the "Normal/Casual" setting with triggers the "high spin", the clothes would come out too wet to put into the dryer. This necessitated that we manually set the spin cycle from "Normal/Casual" setting to the "Extra High" setting to get the machine to spin the clothes dry.

After several months of using the "Extra High" spin setting, we found that we had to start decreasing the amount of clothes that we put into the washer for the "Extra High" spin cycle to sufficiently spin the water out of the clothes.

Finally, the "Extra High" spin cycle now fails after 3 to 5 minutes into the cycle with even a small amount of clothes. "F" flashes on the main control panel, followed by "6". When this happens the pump drains out the water and the clothes are sopping wet because the washer hasn't gone through the spin cycle.

We are trying to determine if this problem sounds like: the motor, the control board for the motor, the main control board, or something else.
