My gas dryer will heat up for about 5 seconds then the heating unit will shut off. The dryer seems to run fine, just wont dry the clothes. Do you think this is the coils?

This unit is only two years old, but has gotten alot of use for a family of five.

Thanks in advance

I don't answer e-mails for a few day's, and all the help is gone. No serious, it is most likely the coils, It is a very easy, and inexpensive repair. Let us know how it goes. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Which coil do you think I should replace, the Main coil or both coils?

So, I just wanted to make sure that the coils are the only part I need to fix on my dryer....... The dryer will glow for 5 seconds at the begining of the cycle and it looks like the heat never kicks on. It will come back on and glow agin 30-60 sec after but never ignite. Do you possibly think it the igniter, the valve, a limiter or a regulator?? Or doesn't sound like a typical coil issue on a gas dryer??

Thanks for all your help

No, is still think it is the coils. You get to it from the front. Take the top up, and the front off, and they sit right on the gas valve. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
