All of a sudden my dryer is using massive amounts of electricity. I was checking my electricty usage because the bill was extremly high, i noticed the wheel in my meter going very fast, so i began testing my appliances and when i turned on the dryer i was shocked to see the meter speed up and i mean speed up!! what do you think is causing this? i have had this electric dryer fora very long time and never saw it do this.. thanks

It is not unusual to see your meter spin rapidly when you run an electric dryer, especially at startup.. It will also do this if you turn on an electric oven and 2 or 3 stovetop elements at the same time... Does it seem like it's taking longer to dry your clothes? You did not list the model number of your kenmore dryer but if it's one of the older models made by whirlpool then you may have worn drum felt seals... Or the most common ailment of a lint clogged exhaust hose... Both reduce the amount of heated air flowing thru the drum hence more time needed to dry your clothes and higher electrical use...
