I installed a brand new Spacemaker today above my stove. I mounted it and every, I go to plug it in and turn it on to check it out and it is sparking inside the unit by the power cord. it is also making a poping sound. Any ideas?

I guess i should have checked it before i installed it over the stove. seeing that is it is brand new i thought it would work right out of the box.

There is something wrong with the power outlet or inside the microwave. Plug it in a different outlet, using an extension cord. If this problem still exist then call GE for the warranty service. If it would work, then you need an electrician.
