My Whirlpool oven will not broil or bake. This happened once before and I changed the temp sensor. This time the oven quit during a cleaning cycle.I replaced the sensor again but it did not help. The control panel seems to be working. Any thoughts?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RBS305PDQ12 OVEN | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. Since you changed the sensor I am assuming you have flipped the breaker off/on and nothing changed. As you can see in the tech sheet there is a thermal overload (Item 37 in Section 1 of the parts) in the bake and broil element circuit. Disconnect/remove power from the unit and check it with a meter. Should be 0 ohms. It is not uncommon for these to blow during self clean. Also check that the unit is receiving 240 volts. Be very careful as 240 volts is lethal!!! |

Denman if you're out there, I checked the thermal switch (o ohms) checked continuity on bake and broil elements (both are showing resistance), as you know the temp sensor is brand new, and I checked continuity in the door lock switches. Everything has checked out fine. With the power on, the clock works, the control panel reads and shows the oven to be preheating when you set it to bake but nothing heats up. Am I down to the control board being bad or is there something else to try first? Thanks again

Did you check that the unit is getting 240 volts?
If yes then all that is left is the control board or at least that is all I can think of. |
