I have a frigidaire chest freezer. We had a electric surge in the house and now everything in the house is working but the freezer. It is plugged in and the outlet works but the freezer is doing nothing. Could we have blown the tempurater control switch or any other ideas?

Yes, it's possible the temperature control is defective but my guess is the relay/overload is the culprit... Suggest replacing this part and the capacitor, follow the wires going to the compressor to locate... Replacements can be purchased from APP... AP2113677 & AP2113528

that would be my guess also, kooler. We get alot of brown-outs here in rural Pa. and I see quite a few burned up relays.
