How do you remove and replace the timer of this washing machine.

I've removed the back plate - exposing the old timer. The electric plug (with about 15 contacts) refuses to budge. Also, a single electric plug(with what appears to be two green ground wires) also refuses to come off. Also, the front control knob(that lets one select the machine cycle) also does not want to 'pop off' either.

Take the cap off the timer knob and you can get the knob off and then take off the screws that hold the timer on.
