My (side by side) GE refrigerator doesn't seem to be working any more. While plugged in, the door lights work but nothing else (display panel inside fridge, panel on water dispenser, compressor etc) don't. It doesn't make any noise whatsoever while plugged in. No clicking. I opened the back and inside panels and nothing obvious is wrong. The mainboard doesn't have any burn marks. Any ideas what might be wrong? Model: PSS29NGNA CC

I found a site which apparently repairs appliance motherboards. The dispenser not working apparently is a symptom of a bad board and GE fridges are infamous for this. Is there any way I can definitely confirm my board is bad before I send it off?

The website mentioned earlier tested my board and found it to have a bad microprocessor, probably the root of my problem. It's unrepairable but they have a newer version refurbished board they're sending back. Will post again when I have results

Got the refurbished board yesterday (total cost: $120), plugged it in and everything's working again. Also discovered via some website images that my old board should have had a ground installed and did not. I don't know if that might have zapped my old microprocessor or not but to be on the safe side I made a new ground wire out of some stuff I had lying around to ground the board to the case as it should have been originally.
