The wash cycle is normal until time for final spin. Washer drains w/stationary tub, then does slow spin, then stops.

Error code E46 was on the board. I purchased a new control board and same problem is still there.

Washer does drain, and cleaned out small amount of debris from the strainer. Door lock circuit is made. No other error codes.

So, since the family was getting restless, I went to the local parts house and paid a King's ransom for another control board. I installed it this evening. There were no error codes present at power up. So, I started a load of clothes and the exact same problem recurred.

Next, I did the diagnostic test w/the new board in place. This is the one where, after activation, turning the program knob 1 click at a time turns on different functions of the machine. All aspects of the test worked fine, including spin and high-speed spin. The last diagnostic step is to display error codes: The codes had increased from E46 only to both E46 and E47!

Since an error code 47 occurred, I bought a door lock (from appliance parts pros, as it would happen). No improvement. Feed free to step in with the clever solution at any point.

After writing & posting the paragraph above, I went back upstairs, only to see the washer spinning like the devil!

So....what this means is that the Frigidaire main control board can give the error code 46 when, well, when it shouldn't.

ps: while waiting for the new door lock to arrive by mail, I had opened up the old one, and attempted to bypass the interlock circuit by jumpering out one set of contacts (to make it think the door was always locked). However, the programmer was too smart for me. The software must check for change of state of the contacts. The machine would run for a bit, then shut down.

the end.
