Could find no info on your unit using the listed Model Number. Removed the C from it, still no results.
Try to locate the squeal as best you can, this can be very difficult if not impossible.
If it is the motor's bearing the motor will have to be replaced. Often on a lower end or old dryer it makes more sense to replace the machine.
But before doing that I would check the following: 1 Idler wheel. This would be at the most likely culprit. 2 Rear roller bearings or rear center mount bearing depends on the unit. The machine type that uses a drum center mount at the rear are notorious for squealing. If your unit is this type check it for wear. If it is OK, clean it and re-grease with a high temp grease. Do not use too much grease. 3 Front glides 4 Blower make sure it has not come loose from the motor or something has fallen in and is scraping. 5 Inspect the drum for any signs that it is rubbing on some part of the frame.
If all the above OK try a drop of oil on the motor bearings, do not go crazy with the oil as it will attract/hold lint. This is just a temporary fix so the unit does not drive you around the bend. |
