Our washing machine (Whirlpool LXR9245EQ0) is leaving lint on clothes. Apparently on this model there is no lint trap the user can clean out, but instead a built in lint filter.

The original lint filter seems to have been superceded by part AP3094570. Will installing these filter plugs reduce the lint on clothes? How difficult are they to install?

Any other ideas are welcome as well.

As always, thank you!

See the attachment for a sheet on the filter kit.

I think that the original filter should be removed but am not 100% sure on this. The sheet does say it is no longer required.

Google in videos for "whirlpool washer repair" and you will get a bunch of them.
britishjames.com has a whole bunch on Yahoo and there are also videos from other folks .
They go over how a number of repair procedures.
