I have a Kenmore Microwave and Oven combination. Model #665-4433452. Mfg. 1996. Made humming noise and stopped working. Lower oven still works fine. Finally replaced fuse, only to have microwave work for about 10 seconds, make loud humming noise, and shut down again. I'm assuming something else is causing the fuse to blow. I'm considering replacing with Whirlpool Part #: AP2929710 (C/T Fuse and Monitor Switch Kit) from this site, but want to see if there are other suggestions as to what would be causing the fuse to blow before I spend any more money on this project. Thanks!

You may want to check the magentron, transformer and the wiring harness.

Here is a site with more info http://www.applianceaid.com/nuker.htmlYou can also add the capacitor to the list. The site shows how to check it but this only works on a shorted capacitor. You need special equipment to check it for a breakdown when it has actual working voltage on it. |
