The lights inside the microwave do not illuminate when the door is opened.

The door is tightly closed. When time is inserted into the control panel and the start switch is depressed, the unit does not start and a "DOOR" error is displayed.

What is causing this?

There are three switches shown in the door circuit. There is some resistance across some of the contacts. What is the tolerance on this resistance?

I had this same problem in the past and it turned out to be a fuse that is behind the unit. You may have to look a diagram to see where I'm talking about.

It is not a fuse. It is the door switch that has gone bad.
