I have a side by side Kenmore over 10 years old. No water is being dispensed and it drives me insane. It never worked the day I moved in. Ice maker does work. I blew air from inside the refrigerator in the water hoses to ensure that I am not experiencing any frozen lines. Air comes our at the dispensor at the top. I purchased and replaced an OEM Kenmore water filter and still and nothing is any different. I then replaced Valve-Water-Dual-I/M & Water Part number: 21865800 (PIC1). Still no water. The only thing I can suspect is the PSI on the water line leading to the refrigerator may not be enough. When do start with any future diagnosis? At the same time my ice maker fills with water (approx 5 sec) I try the water dispenser and water then comes out. I included a second picture (PIC2) which is the inlet water valve. Could it be this? What is the difference between the 2 anyway? There is got to be a point where I just give up! wb2nco attached the following image(s):

Check to make sure you have the right valve. You can test it by following the procedure in a previous post. If toy have enough water pressure to fill the ice maker, you have enough to dispense. You should also check your dispenser switch.

Idisconected the water line from underneath the refrig and the water is coming out when i tried the dispencer. So the line is frozen in the freeza door. What can I do next to defrost the line so I can make the dispencer work again?

Thank you for your support and ideas. After disconnecting the water line and cheked the valve that is working, I turn the freeza off and after almost an hour I have the dispencer working again. The only thing I don't know if it will feeze again.

I suspect your problem lies in the dispencer itself. To see a breakdown you will need to go to searspartsdirect website and put in your model number. There should be a tech sheet located somewhere inside your unit with some possible test proceedures on it.

If I remember correctly they have a kit to keep those from freezing, I'll try to locate that part number if I can find it or someone else may know it and post it for you.

Do you suppose it could be my inlet valve? I really dont think it a hose freezing. Like I said I was able to breathe air from the inside fill tank hose to the dispenser. Nothing seems to be clogged.

It's possible, you can test it by switching the leads on the valve and pushing the water dispenser (the water should actually go into the icemaker)
