My dryer spins but does not blow any heat. I cleaned all of the lent out of the dryer and around the valve. Turned the dryeron and it got hot for a moment and continued to blow cool air. I called a Sears repair person he looked at the dryer and said my coils were bad but everything else checked out ok. Needless to say he wanted to charge me $399 to replace them. I ordered new coils from this sight and replaced them. It blew real hot at first and now it blows hot off and on. Please help!

Well it wont stay hot continuously through the cycle the element will cycle off and on by the operating thermastat to determine what temp its running at you need to record the temp with a temp probe in the exhaust vent record before it shuts off and the temp before it comes back on again add them together and divide by 2 that will give you the average temp its heating at should be around 145 degrees on an average + OR - a degree or two

Sometimes, replaceing the coils is not enough. Sometimes you just have to replace the whole gas valve. Sears, when will you people learn that they are the biggest rip of artist in the business. $399 for a set of $25.00 coils. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Is that insane, you must here it from your customers too. I run about 50 service calls a week, and I must say, almost every one of the have there Sears stories. Hey, why are we wasting out time here, we should come up with a books called "The best rip off's from sears. People we are not slamming Sears, because we bought a bad lawn mower, but truley Sears has gotten out of hand. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the consumer protection agency when you need them. I am truly looking forward to the day they are gone. I don't know if you have herd of a company called NEW. They hold the contract sold by Lowes, and Best Buy. I used to do a ton of work for them, and then they yanked it out from underneath me, so when I called them up and ask why I am not getting calls, they said they are now giving Sears the calls, or actually AE. I knew at the time, that I was sharing that work with Sears, so I asked what was there turn around time, and average cost per call, and I had beaten them hands down. My supervisor at the time, said Tom it is out my hands. This is a corporate decision. Which was cool. I was working too hard anyway. But, let me ask you this, do you work for yourself as a tech or do you work for someone else? Tom ApplianceEducator.com
