This incredible freezer has moved 3 times and been with me since new. The starter relay is not kicking in but if I tap on it the compressor will start and run and cool just fine...untill it turns off and then won't restart unless tapped again. The part number for the relay is WR7X5131 but is discontinued. I'm guessing my best bet will be supco RCO 410 altho I can't find the HP rating of the compressor. All the info on back is still legible and available but it doesn't say anything about compressor HP rating. Of course it's a R-12 compressor. Freezer model number is CB15DJ. 595 BTU/HR is all it says about compressor. This is the FIRST time I've had any issue with this freezer...UNBELIEVABLE! Any info appreciated.:o

I would never use a 3 n 1 RCO410, they have caused fires in the past. I would first check for burnt wires to it, or burnt compressor terminals. If you have a meter, verify you get 115 volts to the compressor while it is plugged in.
If you have a mechanical coil type relay, these rarely fail. If you have a meter, turn it upside down and check continuity between the input spade terminal and the round right compressor terminal. If shorted, the relay is ok, your compressor run winding may not be drawing enough current to activate it, most probably from burnt wires.
If it still will not work, you can try a AP4503418 start device. Does not come with instructions, but you just plug it in the compressor and insert the fridg wires into it.
