Your problem is the defrost heater has gone bad causing the evaperator to ice over and restrict the air flow. Part# WR51x10101. You will need to remove all items and shelves from freezer, and remove the rear panel to access the evap. Melt the ice with a hair dryer till it's all gone, put back together and order the heater. Your refer will return to normal while your waiting for the part. Now the reason your door is leaking, is because these doors were poorly insulated causing moisture to get inside and freeze, now that the temps are warm, that ice in the door is melting. This is also why sometimes your water will stop working, it freezes the water line in the door. There was a lawsuit filed on this refer and had you responded to it you would have had new doors put on to fix this problem, but really does not matter now. Regardless, you need a new defrost heater to fix the issue at hand....

I tried the part# you gave and searched and was unable to locate that part number or anything for this GE fridge named defrost heater.

Yes, it is at the bottom of the evaperator, held in by 2 screws. Once you have the back panel off you will see it at the bottom. Just for clarification. once all your freezer shelves are removed, you will see the back panel, take that off (held on by a couple screws) and your ready to go.

The hissing is normal, that is your refrigerant flow noise. As far as how this works, when the evap has that much ice on it, the freezer fan cannot draw air through it, therefore temps begin to climb. Now that you defrosted the coils, your fridge will return to normal operating temps for about 7-8 days until the evap freezer over again, so when you get the part, you will need to use the hair dryer again to defrost the coils.
