the ram on my kenmore model # 665.13601790 will not raise. the compactor runs, there is power to the compactor. is this something I can fix myself or should I take it to be repaired?
Thanks,

texaszinnia,

Remove the unit from the cabinet, put it on a side, remove the bottom cover and check the chain and gears. Post the results.

Gene.

Thanks for your help Gene, it was the chain it had popped off of the gears. My son put it back together and it works like a charm!:D
