i installed a new water bottle i ordered for my amana part no.AP119793 (R0181175) Wtr tank kit.it is a different looking bottle because maytag changed it. in the instructions that came with it. it says to note the outlet and inlet of the old tank but fails to tell you what the inlet and outlet of the new tank is. also it dosent tell you the orientation of how the new bottle goes into the refrigator.on the old one the outlet and inlet were on the top when fastened to the refrigator. the new one can be put in that way or with the outlet and inlet on the right side.i inatalled it with the bottle orientated up , and with the inlet hose on left and outlet on right. the bottle filled up 3/4 of the wat then stopped , but you could still here the relay working. so i stopped, and 20 min. later it discharged about 1/2 cup of water out of the spicket whear you get your water. now it dispences water in the glass but the water dosent stop after you release the switch. the relay kicks off but you continue to get water for 4 or 5 seconds. did i hook something up wrong. it dosent seem to me that up or sideways or inlet and out would make it do that. my orignal problem was a leak in the old bottle.

you might just have air in it keep drawing water out of it it should eventually return to working again. a couple 2 or 3 gallons should do it if not you're gonna have to back up if it dont work that way reverse the tubing and try it that way ya cant hurt nothing

Turn the tank upside down while calling for water to get rid of the air in the tank.
