I made the mistake of opening the door after setting for a self clean cycle. I then cancelled out of the self clean, however the door lock engaged with the door open, now the lock light is flashing, the door lock is engaged, and the door will not shut. Please Help!!
Thanks, Heather Monroe

Push and hold the door light switch while restart the self clean. Keep holding the door switch, wait a minute then cancel the self clean and release the door switch after the "lock" is off.
Good luck and Happy New year.

Gene. So I'm in FL, 3/26/10 and search this forum. And what the heck, go hold in the door switch, start the clean cycle, (I had not done clean prior, but someone may have bumped clean on the panel - I had a turkey breast in and it was baking at the time) but then here's this light blinking and the door Can't Be Locked or completely closed so the Oven Won't Work... Argh, so then I read your fix, tried it and it Saved me Money No Doubt!! Thanks so much again, Gene and Heather for having the problem for him to post the fix for! God Bless you Both! Doreen in FL

In which position is the door latch hook? If it's in the door closed position then try to start and cancel the self clean as instructed in the previous post. If it's in the door open position, check the door latch switches and the wire harness from the door latch to the control board. If the problem is a bad switches and/or latch motor, replace the latch assembly. If there is nothing wrong, then the problem is a bad control board. Unfortunately this part is no longer available. - The latch assembly Part number: AP4538774

I also have a GE oven that has "locked door" flashing on the screen, which then doesn't allow me to use the oven at all. The lock is open and the message has not gone away. I have tried unplugging the oven to re-set it. I have tried pressing "9" and "0" at the same time, I have tried holding down "clock" and "cancel", and nothing seems to be working. I also have a manual switch for the light in the oven, so I have nothing to hold and press cancel with. Please let me know what I can do to get my oven working again.
