Genius,

Do you know which thermostat you're going to replace ?

There are 3,

The regulating / operating thermostat, on the blower housing.

Part number: AP3045874
Part number: AP3045874

The Hi Limit and Thermal fuse kit, located on the element/heater assembly.

Part number: AP3094224
Part number: AP3094224

You should be able to access these components, by removing the lower access / Toe panel.

Removing the Toe Panel
1. Using a flat blade screwdriver, locate and release the two toe panel clips, approximately 4” in from each side.

2. Pull toe panel off and set finished side up.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

You're working in the wrong area.

The 2 spring clips you need to access and unclip, are located in the seam between the front panel(where the door is) and the top of the toe kick panel, once those 2 clips are released, you can pull the panel out and lift it off of the bottom clips(at this point, it'll probably fall off, since you removed the bottom clips).

That should'nt be necessary, based on my information.

You should be able to access and replace any thermostat in the cabinet interior, using the large opening, when you remove the lower kickplate panel.

But, if you wish,

Here are the instructions on front panel and drum/belt removal from the service manual.

Removing the Console

1. Remove the two screws at the base of the console.

2. Grab console on both sides. Pull console towards you, lifting the tabs up and out of the
console slots. Carefully flip console back to make repairs. Do not lean console against wall. ( Console may mar or damage wall. If dryer is too close to wall, pull dryer forward so console does not touch wall).

Removing the Dryer Top

1. Remove the console.
2. Remove the three screws at the back
of the dryer top.
Slide top toward you to release top from front
clips and rear tabs.
4. Lift top up and off dryer.

Removing the Front Panel

1. Remove the dryer top.
2. Remove the toe panel.
3. Remove the lint screen.
4. Release the two (2) door springs.
5. Remove the two screws attaching
the lint duct to the dryer and remove the lint duct.
6. Remove the two (2) screws at the bottom and the
two (2) screws at the top of the front panel.

7. Pull wiring harness out of clips inside top side of dryer.
Disconnect the wiring harness.

8. Lift up and remove front panel.

Removing the Belt and the Drum
1. Remove the front panel.
2. Reach underneath drum and behind motor to locate idler pulley. Push idler pulley to
left to release drum belt tension. Remove the belt from the motor pulley.

3. Remove the drum and belt from the cabinet.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Yes,

You're correct, you have to remove the toe plate panel, in order to access the cabinet interior.

Here is a diagram of the spring clip, located in the top of the toe panel, and secures the toe plate to the bottom of the upper front panel.

With a flat blade screwdriver or stiff blade putty knife, push in on the spring clip, and push or pry down on the panel top to release the toe plate panel, from the upper front panel.
