My Kenmore microwave/fan combo stopped working. The kitchen timer feature was being used and the machine went blank at the end of the time. It is on a dedicated circuit in a house built 2 years ago. It was manufactured in Aug 06. I checked the 20 amp fuse and it is good, nothing appears wrong inside (from an untrained eye.) My new friend at sears (that sold me 4 new appliances less than 2 years ago) thinks it is the control panel. I will try to fix it if you really believe that is it or can explain how to test it. It is $100 for someone to look at it, $100 for a control panel, and I'm sure something to put it in on a $400 unit. Please help before I deposit the unit on my new friend.

In case you need it the control board is part # 6871W1A419G But you will have to get it from Sears $83 & change on the website. Chances are since you were only using the timer portion of the controls when it quit you will have to replace the control board. You could also contact LG themselves and see how much they charge for that part, since your MW was made by LG.

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the part. LG was no help and I had to fight with sears to get someone supposely knowledgeable. Hopefully I can replace it without any breaking anything or getting exectrocuted.
