The problem I am having is that when the machine is turned on it will not start but the motor will heat up and start to smell, but if it is turned off and on again it will start and go through the full cycle with no problems. Any Ideas

Lately Ive been seeing actually a lot of problem with these basic machines techs throwing part at them like crazy had 2 last month is was actually the wiring harness after people had replaced everything. Timer motors caps

These washer problems are hard enough to diagnose, but an amp probe makes it easy but most people do not have one.

Here in this forum, most servicers have a lot of experience and gain a well deserved "expert" rating. However, a lot of "junior" members with very good experience have been very helpful also.
