I have an Amana model 10C2MA (1R) window A/C. When I turn it on the blower motor won't kick on. The unit makes a humming sound and then clicks like a circuit breaker activates. If I reach in through the front and spin the squirrel cage and then turn unit on it works fine. Is the fan motor the problem? A friend of mine said that the brushes in the motor may be worn.
Thanks for the help,
Jeff Peoples

That does sound like a fan motor problem.

Fact: When you replace the fan motor, replace the capacitor. :)
