Symptoms: Jenn-Air slide in range touch pad beeps constantly and the display changes as if someone is making keypad entries. Happens only when the oven is on and range is hot, but not every time. Cooling the touchpad with a damp sponge usually stops the beeping. It started about 1 year ago. Finally got an F1-8 error code on the display.

Question. Should the touchpad be replaced? Any chance it could be something else? Thanks

Hi Jim,

According to your description and meaning of the "F1-8" error code the problem with your oven, most likely, is a bad membrane switch which is a part of the control panel. There is a very small chance for the control board to be bad too.

- The part number for the black control panel is AP4094898
