Kenmore top-load washer doesn not spin or agitate...or mechnical movement at all. Fills and drains okay. Agitator moves counter-clockwise by hand but not clockwise. Don't wan to spend lots of money on an older machine but also don't want to buy a new one if the fix is something simple and cheap. Would appreciate any suggestions/solutions. Thx!

look at the coupler between the motor & transmission. Part 285753a

Nat, you're right!! I checked under the machine and found a broken piece of the coupler and some rubber filings. Looks like an inexpensive part but could use some repair instructions. Thx!

Just wanted to tie-in and let you know that I replaced the coupler and the washer is running/spinning/agitating. Thanks for your help!
