Gene,
Please clarify how to reach this part. Is the part accessible through the wash tub or through the rear by pulling the unit away from the wall?

I removed the screen from the bottom of the tub but found a fitting with a smooth bottom and an outlet 90 degrees on the side toward the door.
I had expected the plunger to be at the bottom of the fitting.
Problem i am having is the tub is not fully draining at the end of the last rinse cycle.

Don, If you are talking about the piston & nut, then you have to remove the filter frame (#543 on the diagram). The piston & nut (#564) has to be unscrewed. - The piston & nut assembly Part number: AP2617344

Hi Gene, Thank you for the clarification. I had removed parts 508 and 509expecting the part to be there and not in the back of the tub under part 543.

I have the same type problem. The drain pump does not come on at all. Took it all apart Sunday afternoon, actually took pump out, hooked it up to power supply and it pumps water just fine. However, when installed it never comes on. The control panel is new, unit got hit by lightning and it fried control board. Replaced that and cycle selection and all works, main pump, vent, water supply, heater elements, etc. all work but drain pump will never come on. Any ideas what could be wrong?? I have heard some ideas about a turbidity sensor and flood asm switch, but do either of these interfere with command to start the pump??
Thanks much in advance!! Joe
PS. my model is GSD6200J00BB

Joe, Check for 120 VAC to the drain pump while the control calls for drain. If the reading is correct then the pump is bad. If the reading is incorrect, check the wires to the drain pump. The White wire (neutral) goes to the door switch. The Red wire (hot) goes to the J2 connector on the control board. If there is nothing wrong with the wires then the control board is defective. - The drain pump Part number: AP3192221

Thanks Gene,
I will try that, I was wondering if the new board was not working...finding an unplugged wire would be nice :-) BTW, I put 120vac into the pump and it worked just fine outside of the dishwasher, put it back into the D/W and no drain :-( Thanks again!

Hey Gene, I actually checked the pins coming out of the J2 connector on the control board. I had the machine in diagnostic mode and rotated throught the commands, circ pump, heater, detergent, etc. and the ONLY pin that did not go to 120.9V was the pin going to the drain pump. Could there be some interlock causing this? or does this just indicate a problem with the control board, which is brand new. Thanks much!
