My oven knob doesn't stop on the OFF position, so to make sure the oven is off I have to 'balance' the knob at the OFF position. It is not the knob itself, which I have already replaced. I tried to get into the top area to see if I can fix this easily or if I need a new thermostat assembly. How do I get into a sealed top? There is another question like mine that I could refer to if it was answered!

Does your range model end in B or A? Can't locate a B. If it's A then this is the breakdown FGFB33WHSA Nat

Thank you for your reply Nat. My range model ends with a "B" but it's the same range as the "A". The page that you referred me to still does not answer my question of how to get the top off. I tried removing the entire back panel and backguard but still couldn't figure out how to remove the top to get access to the regulator. I am looking for directions on how to remove the top! You are wanting to get to the part behind the knob right, the part that controls the oven?

Yes, the knob no longer stops at the off position. It just clicks at the off position and continues round, so to get the oven off I have to balance the knob at the off position. I have replaced the knob so that is not the problem.
I tried taking out the screws on the manifold cover and the two screws holding in the thermostat but couldn't get the manifold cover to drop down.
You are wanting to get to the part behind the knob right, the part that controls the oven?

The part that controls the oven on/off (Thermostat) is behind the knob itself. Once you have that back plate on the backguard removed you should see the oven controls near the bottom in the middle of the control board which is #12 on the picture breakdown. (part #AP2124416)

Again, I Need To Remove The Top To Get To This Part. The Faceplate Will Not Come Off Without The Removal Of The Top. I Need Directions On How To Remove The Top. Do You Know How To Remove The Top? This Is A Sealed Burner Type Stove. The Top Does Not Just 'pick Up'.

1. Remove the caps
2. Turn the metal rings around the burners
3. Raise the top
But if you knob clicks past the OFF postion and won't turn the oven off that's the part you would want to look at not the regulator which isn't under the top, it's below the oven plate.

I have attached a picture of the top. You will notice the three little 'grooves around each burner hole. A bolt goes through the burner and through these holes making it impossible to turn the burner or lift the top after I removed the parts you suggested. Anything else you can suggest?

I am attaching the response I received from Frigidaire, which is the correct way...
Sorry we do not have a service manual on this product. To get into the
cooktop area, I would instruct your service technician to remove power to
range by unplugging at wall outlet. Remove burner grates, burner caps. On each side of the cooktop about 1 to 2 inches back is a spring clip located between the bottom edge of the cooktop and top edge of the bodyside panel, with a putty knife push in on the spring clip will release the top. You can lift the top in the front up 5 to 6 inches without causing any problem to the aluminum tubing to the burners from the surface valves. I would not try to remove the 3 mounting screws at each burner head, removing these screws will most likely break from age and heat and then you would have to replace the burner head assembly that are costly.
With the top raised in the front you can get to the oven thermostat, there are 4 screws on the bottom of the manifold panel and 3 on top if you what'd to remove this panel that the thermostat is mounted to. You will see where the thermostat tube goes through the sub top and into the oven cavity. Hope this helps you instruct your service technician, see drawings below.
