My Kenmore Dryer won't turn the drum. When I select a program and then hit 'start' the machine acts normally and the expected time & temperature are displayed but there is no movement or sound coming from the dryer. Here is a breakdown of what I have done so far: 1. With the unit plugged in, I ran the diagnostics. The results were as expected in the service manual. The belt is fine, the connection through to the motor is fine, the idler-pulley appears to be fine and everything looks functional. 2. Tested continuity in the fuses. All of the fuses tested ok. One did not give a continuity result, it was the two prong piece on the blower assembly that is not the motor fuse (perhaps a cycling thermostat). The motor fuse tested fine. Could this be the problem? Can I short the connection to test if it will work?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for 110-64082202 models | AppliancePartsPros.comWhen I look up on AppliancePartsPros the part number you listed it comes up as the thermistor AP3919451 (1/3 down first page). You should not short it. It should be about 10,000 ohms. Here is the tech sheet, see the attachment. Do the motor Test #2. |
