the lower locking pin on the right hand shock (facing the front) will not come out all the way. it hits a metal box (maby an electrical panel)

That box is the Motor speed control, (be gentle with it) It has 1 Phillips screw in the front of it that hold it to the BASE of the washer. Remove that screw and lift the front of the control, The rear of the control has a tab that slides out of the base. With that out of the way the pin will come rite out.
