Need help:
Dyer turns on, but as soon as I let button go, it turns off. It has electricity going in, but does not stay on. I think it is the control panel. What do you think?

Here is your parts breakdown
Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDET446AYW DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is your tech sheet, see attachment.

Try running the diagnostics to see if there is an error.

It very well could be the control board.

Since you don't have a push to start switch, it could be three things. The timer, the control board, which is behind the control panel, or a bad motor switch. All the calls I run everyday, I have not had that experience on that model. But, Whirlpool has the same sort of set up on some of there dryers, and it usually is the control board. The part # is 37001286. Not an easy diagnosis. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts
