Makes good ice, but apparently doesn't always shut off water on time. Receptacle tray fills with cubes and water, becoming an iceberg requiring an ice pick to break up. I replaced the water valve yesterday, still same problem. Is there anything other than the icemaker or valve that could cause this?

Your icemaker has a plastic face cap on the front of it (If I remember correctly, it faces you as you open your freezer). Remove the cover by snapping it off. As you look at the exposed test points and main gear, the water adjustment screw is on the right side of the icemaker head. Turning it clockwise decreases the water fill. 1/2 turn decreases it by 20cc (or 1.2 seconds of fill time). A full turn decreases it by 40cc (2.4 seconds). The maximum adjustment is one full turn in either direction.

I just now installed a new icemaker unit, I'm hoping that does the trick. Many thanks for your taking the time to help me. Ray.
