Can you assist and tell me what the issue is with my Side by Side refrigerator freezing my food solid? I have set both the freezer and refrig temperature control to the their lowest setting and my food on the fridge side freezes everything solid. The average temperature is 25 degrees on the fridge side. Is it a bad thermostat? If there is more than one which one do I replace? Tim

Here are your parts

Check the temperature in your freezer. It should be 0 to 5 degrees F.
If it is OK then the most likely culprit is the fresh food thermostat and damper (Item 8 in Section 2). It controls the amount of cold air that enters the fresh food side.
If you can see if the damper opens and closes when the fresh food thermostat is adjusted.

Here is a manual. Although it does not specifically list your unit yours should be a close match when it comes to the controls, see Page 2-11.

You may have to join the site to get the manual but it is free and a very good site for info.

Yes the temperature in the freezer is reading between 0 to 5 degrees. I noticed on your post to use Item 8 in section 2. What comes with that assembly? The thermostat and damper or just the thermostat? Would I have to purchase both the thermostat and damper along with that assembly?

I am not 100% sure on this but it looks to me that this is just the thermostat and it's mount.

I would say that this then opens/closes the door, damper (Item 11 in Section 2) which fits over the air tunnel from the freezer.

Have you found a spring in the fresh food side lately? (Item 10 in Section 2) or perhaps this has just come loose.

I would pull it apart before ordering anything, jsu in cas it is something simple.
